Im hooked

Absolultely love this app. I have three different bird apps and this is my "go to".

Great

This app will aid your proficiency and get you becoming a better birder.

The best app for birding guide

I really like the overall feature set of this app, including 1. It has both bird illustrations and photos 2. Various modes of bird sound playing 3. BAM is great. It can be better to leverage eBirds public API to get actual sightings 4. Integration with Dropbox is just awesome! Highly recommend it for all birders.

Without equal

This application will make all of your field guides superfluous. Its that good.

Still missing some birds

Where are the Sinaloa Wren and the Ridgways Rail? The former was recognized by ABA in 2009, I believe, and the latter was split from Clapper Rail in 2014.

Great app

This app is the most comprehensive app I have had to date. I highly recommend it. Any bird lover would find it helpful with identification. Five stars for sure!

BEST BIRDING APP!

I lead monthly bird walks and have 3-4 full suite birding apps. I have been a fan of iBird from its very first app many years ago. It continues to be a reliable reference with pictures & drawings, vocalizations, range maps and more recently - field marks, nest & egg pics. With every new version, it just gets better with features that are intuitive to use. On our bird walks, I often find it easier & faster to pull up iBird Ultimate than to pull out my large & heavy field guide. It also pulls up a list of similar looking & similar sounding birds which is great for comparison. I also like being able to add my own journal notes too. They have just introduced a new version with Force Touch which I have yet to try. I can look up a bird from my iPhones Spotlight Search screen! This is a great app that has withstood the test of time. Dont hesitate. Get this app; best $$ youll spend on a bird app! - Julia

Great app, but missing a key feature

In almost every bird field guide I have picked up, they include juvenile photos and markers. This app does NOT have this. Some of the photos offered do show juveniles, but it is not a core feature of the app to see and search by them. To me, quite frustrating. Otherwise, as other reviewers have said, an excellent birders tool.

Wonderful!

Makes birding on the go easier. Having songs and calls along with good pictures has helped many times. I also keep a year list by clicking the favorite button as well as a house list.

Super App

My first go to app. The photos are a great help when trying to ID a bird.

Great app.

Ive used a vast number of birding apps, but iBird Ultimate has been wonderful, providing calls, images, sketches, distributions, descriptions and more! I highly recommend.

Helpful

Was pleased to find audio files included

love it

learning even more about the birds around me with this app. the recorded bird calls have really helped me narrow down identification. use it daily!

Excellent app with one flaw

Sure beats carting my Sibleys book around, and it plays many calls, also a plus. Ill second the observation that it is lacking in pictures and descriptions of many juveniles and hybrids. Hopefully, the developers will work on that. Otherwise, an easy to use and comprehensive app that I would recommend in spite of that shortcoming.

Excellent

Educational, can be useful for any area; can be set for locality too. Photos are detailed and clear. Calls clear with no background static.

The best birding app available

Purchased iBird Pro two years ago, it quickly became my preferred birding app. Purchased iBird Ultimate four months ago. Love it! Have the other birding apps, but don’t see any use for them. From their website: comprehensive identification, behavior, habitat and ecology information, hand-drawn illustrations, professional photographs, range maps, and playable calls in an absolutely stunning interface. This is why I only use iBird Ultimate. iBird was recommended to me by a birder who said he had tried them all. I have as well now. This is by far the best app in my opinion.

This is a good app with a powerful search engine

This app is great and is all most the same as ibird pro but this app as one feature which ibird does not have the birds near me feature works really works the only problem is it is expensive

Love This App!

I might not have upgraded to this version, but it was being offered at a sale price. Im so glad that I got it! Its been particularly useful for finding just what kinds of birds to expect within a relatively small radius of where were traveling, narrowed down by season.

A New Level of Birding

Using iBird has taught me so much about the lives birds live. My ID skills have increased tremendously, but even more importantly, Im getting such a feel for how so many different birds go through their everyday (and night) activities. iBird includes every feature I could possibly think of, as well as plenty I didnt know I needed till I started using iBird. A friend recommended Ultimate, and though I balked a bit at paying more than a couple dollars when there are so many free apps available, I saw that it was worth the money from the first day I started using it. Ive gone from being a beginning casual bird watcher to serious bird enthusiast in just a few weeks. Ive gotten my husband interested in birds, as well as some neighbors who see me around with iPad and binoculars. You wont regret buying iBird.

iBird Ultimate Guide

Ive used Guide books by Peterson, Stokes, Sibley, Nat Geo, etc. etc.. iBird beats them all. It is a joy. Allows me to identify birds quickly by sight or sound. Hear the sounds and compare to similar. Its better than two other mobile apps that Ive used. I LOVE IT! It has turned my wife on to birding as well. AND ITS ALWAYS IN MY POCKET! Get it!
