iBird Ultimate Guide to Birds App Reviews

Just got the app couple of days ago, after trying several others. This app has helped me identify several types of birds in my backyard, by sound and by sight.

Great app, takes a bit to learn. What is wish, and asked for is the ability to continue to play the sounds when the phone locks. Being an 6s plus, the screen eats the battery. It needs to continue to play when locked, like the music app. Sometimes it takes a while to call the birds in.

I really like iBird. It has allowed me to identify several birds visiting my yard that Id been unsure about. I live in an isolated area so occasionally I get birds moving through the area I am unfamiliar with. I especially appreciate the sounds and actual pictures.

Has so much. Bought on the Ultimate Birder Pack. A great deal.

This app has so many features that I mistakenly gave it 4 stars at first because I hadnt dug deep enough. I have had it now for 9 months and use it a lot. I have learned more from this app then any other book or app. about the birds specific to my region. The sounds are so realistic that I accidentally frightened a piliated woodpecker when playing its calls. It was worth every penny.

Excellent. But please clarify - how is this app different from iBird Pro??

I am a photographer not a birder; I have used this app mainly to identify birds I have photographed. It does the job of identification that I want it to do, and then often surprises me with other interesting information.

Quit being thrifty. Buy this version first. Geo-location. It makes the app and search faster and more useful. I used iBird Pro for a long time. Upgraded. Way better

I found the app to be user friendly. I believe it would suit every birders needs for identification.

The most in-depth app for birdwatchers, it is an all in one tool. Its the holy grail for birding - and I would recommend this app at such a steal price.

I have had bird feeders and traditional identification guides for over 30 years. This is my first birding app. There is an incredible amount of information on all birds on this app. It is a great tool to learn about the birds you are viewing as well as identifying the species. I also purchased the "Journal" app to record my sightings which in turn gives me a mechanism to upload my sightings to eBird. This is a wonderfully integrated system, they way apps and the Internet are supposed to work.
